Snow Day Thoughts

It seems like this is the first day I've gotten to sit down and really relax in awhile. Lately, it seems like everything is go go go. I've gone from feeling super overwhelmed in the Web 2.0 class to just overwhelmed. I posted my video since I wanted to film the snow anyway, but I really hate doing videos. I don't mind doing videos using Camstudio, but if I have to be in front of the camera...no thanks.

I really don't like that I have to grade my fellow classmates. When I'm grading my students, it's not such a big deal since I gave them a task and I'm grading it according to department standards. Grading a classmate is a little bit odd for me since I always tend to think everything is fine. I've never been good about offering criticism to other people unless they specifically ask ("Does this sound right here?" "How do you think I could expand this more"). Also, since a lot of the technologies that we are using are new to me, I'm always impressed when people can use any of them effectively.

This will be a good evening to catch up on watching the tons of videos I need to and then thinking about what can be said. And enjoy the snow (now that I've shoveled it off the driveway).

Fun at Borders

I go to Borders every Wednesday night to meet up with a friend of mine and grade papers. It helps get me out of my house, where I would otherwise spend most of my time staring at a computer screen. Borders has a, well, interesting, crowd that is here on Wednesday, and lately, my friend and I have taken to texting each other on our phones when someone is particularly interesting.

I thought I was past the age of passing notes, but all I did was get a fancier piece of notepaper.

Wow...it's really easy to add ads to blogs now. I had no idea. As much as I want to tempt my classmates with the promise of cheap accai berry, I'll pass for now....until this blog hits the big time! :D

Yay blogging?

So here I am....in the blogsphere. Definitely not in my natural enviroment since I tend to like to read blogs but not necessarily create them. But we'll see how I manage. I don't really have anything interesting to say at the moment.

I see that one of the next assignments posted this week is to make a video....I really hate being in front of the camera. That's probably going to be the hardest thing for me. I'll have to think about how best to do it.
